Italian Heritage: How Made in Italy Day Strengthens Cultural Ties Between Italy and Turkmenistan

News | 16.04.2024

On April 15, the new Arkach Mall in Ashgabat hosted an important event in honor of Made in Italy Day, dedicated to supporting and promoting the Italian brand globally. This celebration coincided with the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, a symbol of Italian art and craftsmanship.

Among the attendees were representatives from the Italian oil and gas company ENI, local entrepreneurs, and students learning Italian. We at HERMITAGE HOME INTERIORS are proud to have participated in this event, which highlights the importance of Italy's heritage in today’s world.

The event began with videos showcasing Italy’s leading role in areas such as fashion, design, and industry. Participants witnessed examples of Italian goods renowned for their quality and elegance.

In his address, Italian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Luigi Ferrari, emphasized the positive momentum in trade, economic, and cultural relations between Italy and Turkmenistan, expressing optimism for increased engagement, particularly with the new direct flights between the two countries. He also highlighted the beauty of Italian jewelry and made a meaningful connection to Turkmen classical poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi, a master jeweler himself. Beauty in both art and jewelry, he noted, has the power to change the world.

During the event, Turkmen business representatives shared their successful experiences collaborating with Italian brands like Paul & Shark, Stefano Ricci, and Benetton. Our discussions focused on projects using Italian interior design solutions, where we highlighted the importance of smart home technology, which opens new possibilities for comfortable, stylish living.

The event concluded with a lively reception, providing an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and forge new connections. We are delighted to participate in such events and continue fostering collaboration between Turkmenistan and Italy.
